Richard "Rick" J. Brewer's Obituary
Richard J. “Rick” Brewer, age 78 of North Ridgeville, passed away peacefully, October 9, 2023, at his home. He was born in Dayton and had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1972. He was a member of St. Jude Parish in Elyria. Rick and his wife, Karen, were the owners of three Book Rack bookstores for 30 years. He was a sales manager at Miles Laboratories and during his retirement worked as a food demonstrator at Costco. Rick enjoyed golfing and traveling.
He is survived by his wife Karen of 56 years; niece Teresa "Terri" (Joe) Wilkin-Shell of Alaska; nephews Stephen Wilkin II of IL, Raymond (Diana) Bromley, Jr. of Missouri; brother-in-law Raymond Bromley, Sr. of Alaska; brother-in-law Richard (Bev) Brademeyer of Dayton; nephews Tim and Doug Brademeyer and niece Jenny Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Dorothy Brewer, twin sisters Marilyn Wilkin and Carolyn Bromley and brother-in-law Stephen Wilkin.
Friends may call Sunday 2-4PM at Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd, North Ridgeville. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 10AM at St. Jude Catholic Church, 590 Poplar St., Elyria. Rev. Joseph Scalco, Pastor will be the celebrant.
