Richard Reed's Obituary
Richard Earl Reed, 75, of North Ridgeville, died Sunday evening at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Avon; following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Macomb, IL and had lived in North Ridgeville the past five years; having moved from Palatine IL
He was a meat sales person and a meat broker.
He was a member of the Masonic Temple. He enjoyed golf, singing in a Barber Shop choir and bowling.
He is survived by his daughters; Mary Susanne Fay, of Round Lake Beach, IL, Stephanie Jo Thomas, of Sagamore Hills, OH and Sandra Lynn Gasior, of North Ridgeville, OH; six grandchildren, Gerrard, Aharon and Jessie Fay; Kathryn and Charles Thomas; and John Gasior; and one great-grandchild, Ariana Fay; brother, Kenneth Leon Reed, of Galesburg, IL and friend, Fay Peesel, of Des Plains, IL.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Geneva (nee Henry) Reed in 1979; parents, Austin E. and Mary Alice (nee Kutcher) Reed; brother, Jack Reed and sister, Alice Snowden.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 7-9 PM at the Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home, 201 W. Carroll, Macomb, IL; where services will be held on held on Saturday at 11:00 AM. Mr. Reed's son-in-law, Reverend Jerry Fay, will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Macomb, IL. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's, Cleveland Chapter, 12200 Fairhill Rd., Cleveland, OH 44120.
