Richard Martinez Sr.'s Obituary
Richard Martinez Sr., age 84, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020 at Westbrook Place Nursing Home in Westlake.
Born in Eagle Pass, Texas, he had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1994 moving from Cleveland.
Richard worked as a cement finisher for Local 404, retiring in 1997.
He enjoyed playing BINGO, loved cooking traditional Mexican meals with his wife and making his own hot sauce. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan, especially the Indians. Richard was a big joker and enjoyed making people laugh.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Mary (nee Rivera), children, Richard (Debi) Martinez Jr. of North Ridgeville, Barbara (Rick) Stedronsky of Columbia Station, Mark Martinez of North Ridgeville, Rachel (Daniel) Chazinski of Parma, grandchildren, Deanna Exley, Chelsey (Mark) Sabatino, Shelby (Kyle Buehner) Stedronsky, Joshua Martinez, great-grandchild, Luca Sabatino, brothers, Oscar and Lorenzo Martinez, many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cosme and Pasquala Martinez, daughter-in-law, Adina Martinez, sister, Martha.
Friends may call Wednesday from 9:30AM until the time of prayer service at 10:30AM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. An 11AM Mass will follow at St. Peter Church, 35777 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic face masks and proper social distancing will be required.
Burial will be at St. Peter Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials made be made to St. Peter Church.
