Richard E. Kepler's Obituary
Richard E. Kepler, age 81, of Elyria, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at St. John Medical Center in Westlake. He was born in Lodi and had been a resident of Elyria since 2006, moving from North Ridgeville. Richard served in the US Navy from 1962-1964. He worked as a lab technician for Lubrizol Corp and BF Goodrich for over 54 years, retiring in 2018 where he was also volunteer fireman. He was a member of Harvest Christian Church in Elyria. Richard enjoyed spending time with family, history, music, cars, metal detecting, nature, Cedar Point, flea markets, and antiquing.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Tammy (nee Shab) Kepler, children: Edward (Ann) Kepler, Constance (David) Schabitzer, Matthew Jason Kepler, Matthew (Suki) Baker, Carollee (Jeremiah) Thomas, Kimberly Kepler, Crystal Kepler, Candace Kepler, Amer Kepler, Miranda Wheaton,
19 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren. Siblings: John “Jack” (Carol) Kepler, Karen Vanover, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Louella (nee Hines) Kepler and brother, Bill Kepler.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at 2:30 PM at Harvest Christian Church, 626 Lorain Blvd., Elyria. Rev. Sagares Martins will officiate. A celebration of his life will follow at the church.
Private burial will be at Butternut Ridge Cemetery, Eaton Twp.
