Richard Hill's Obituary
Richard Rolon Hill, age 77, of Elyria died Friday, April 9, 2004 at his home following a long illness.
He was born January 30, 1927 in Knoxville, TN. He had resided in Elyria the past 57 years moving from Crossville, TN.
He was a member of Toledo Road Church of Christ, Lorain.
Mr. Hill worked as a Salesperson for several area furniture stores.
He served in the US Army during WW II with the 1290th Engineering Combat Battalion. He received theEuropean African Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon with one Bronze Star, the Purple Heart and the Good Conduct Medal.
He enjoyed making furniture and clock out of his home and sold them at Jamie's Flee Market and craft shows. He also enjoyed traveling, playing guitar an singing at his church. He had made a record of his music and played professionally at the Grand Olde Oprey.
He is survived by his wife, Armeda Hamm-Hill his Daughter, Rose Mary Hill of White Pine, TN; Grandchild, Jodi McCowan of White Pine, TN; Great-Grandchild, Alyx Marie McCowan of White Pine , TN; one Brother, Cecil Hale of Boynton Beach, Florida and several neices and nephews.
He was preceded in death by First Wife, Mary Ellen Hill in 1994, Parents, George and Sally Hill, three brothers, Charles Hill, Bo Fuell and Walter Fuell, two sisters, Clara Thompkins and Ruth Bristow..
Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9, Monday, April 12 at the at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, North Ridgeville. Services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday at the funeral home. Reverend Bob Eddy, Pastor of Toledo Road Church of Christ will officiate.
Interment will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon, Ohio.
