Richard A. Friedel's Obituary
Richard A. “Dick” Friedel, age 87, of North Ridgeville passed away Monday October 24, 2016 at UH St. John Medical Center, Westlake following a short illness.
He was born in Cleveland and had resided in North Ridgeville the past 35 years. He had previously lived in North Olmsted.
A painter by trade, he worked with the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades Local 867 for 45 years, retiring in 1992. He was employed as a foreman with John Dancy Painting Co., Novak Painting and most recently with Doubrava Fire Damage Restoration Service.
His hobbies including woodworking, hunting and fishing. Being a bird lover, he enjoyed raising and racing homing pigeons and was a past president of Fairview Homing Club.
Survivors include his companion of 24 years, Patricia Thompson of North Ridgeville, son Richard W. (Patti) Friedel of North Ridgeville, Daughter Susan Friedel of Olmsted Township, grandchildren, Richard E. (Kristen) and Kelly Friedel, great grandchildren Kylee, Oliver and Elise Friedel, sister Alberta (Ted Deceased) Miller of Parma Heights.
He was preceded in death by his wife Martha Ann Friedel (nee Tinter) and his parents Andrew and Alberta Friedel.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville. Services will be held 10 AM Friday at the funeral home with Fr. Richard Gonser officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Brookpark.
