Richard Fedorko's Obituary
Richard Andre "Rich" Fedorko, age 69, of North Ridgeville, passed away Wednesday September 15, 2010 at St. John Medical Center, Westlake from a brain aneurysm, after a courageous 7 month recovery.
He was born in Erie, PA on August 22, 1941 and lived in North Ridgeville since the mid 1974.
Richard attended Penn State University, majoring in mechanical engineering. He worked at Finestra Industries in Erie before accepting a position at the former Donn Products (USG) in Westlake, where he was manager of technical services and major products and marine wall worldwide from 1974-1986. He then became president and CEO of Amweld Building Products in Garrettsville, Ohio for nine years. He was president of American Steel Door Institute in 1991 and served on various committees within the industry for several years. In the late 1990's-2002 he worked for American Architectural Products (AACP) in Boardman, Ohio, where he was President and CEO of Forte, located in Youngstown. He also was a project manager for various subsidiary companies in Texas, Florida and North Carolina. Mr. Fedorko also held mortgage and real estate licenses. He was a former co-owner of Pioneer Financial Company in North Ridgeville in the late 1990's. He also worked at Family Home Mortgage and American Heritage Home Loans in Westlake and Elyria. He was a part time agent with Coldwell Banker Hunter Realty in North Ridgeville. For the past several years, he was a sales associate for Mehco Custom printing and Advertising Specialties in North Ridgeville.
He loved traveling and was most proud of having traveled around the world 24 times for his various positions, visiting nearly every European city and traveling to every major US city. He also enjoyed gardening, sports, theatre, entertaining and simply being with family and friends.
He is survived by his loving companion of many years, Dayle Noll; daughters, Kelli (Steve) Hosler of North Ridgeville, Carrie (Ray) Bolin of Grafton; Cristy (Henry) Kucirek of Lorain; mother, Anne (nee Andre) Fedorko of Erie, PA; brother, Peter (Mary Lou) Fedorko of Erie, PA; sister, Mary Ann Corridan of Blairsville, Georgia; grandchildren, Madison and Logan Bolin, Jake and Max Hosler, Isabella and Sophia Kucirek and extended family Scott (Erica) Noll of Collierville, TN, Christopher (Dawn) Noll of Chicago, IL, Alex and Macy Noll.
He was preceded in death by his father, Peter J. Fedorko and grandson, Henry A. Kucirek V.
Friends may call Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Rev. Glenn Zimbelman, pastor of Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church, will officiate.
