Richard "Dick" Corrette's Obituary
Richard H. "Dick" Corrette, age 87, of North Ridgeville, passed away Monday, April 29, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Keene, New Hampshire and had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1977 moving from Olmsted Falls.
He served in the US Navy during WWII.
Richard was the Chief Engineer for Sterling Die for many years, retiring in 1963. While at Sterling Die, Richard registered several patents for dies he invented.
He was a member of Christ the King Church in North Olmsted where he and his wife were both Shepherds. He and Joan were also Deacons at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Berea.
He enjoyed antique cars, baseball- especially the Cleveland Indians, gardening with Joan and also driving to New England and Amish country together. He was an avid woodworker and spent many hours in his woodshop, creating treasured gifts for his family.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Joan; daughters, Anne Shepard Corrette of Mentor; Carol Susan (Timothy) Dorow of Wooster; grandchildren, Erik Brindza of Mentor, Amanda (Jonathan) Moss of Alabama, Jacob Dorow of Wooster; brother, Robert "Jack" (Louise) Corrette of New Hampshire.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Gladys Corrette.
A Memorial service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Christ the King Church, 30635 Lorain Rd., North Olmsted.
