Rene Summersgill's Obituary
Rene W. Summersgill, age 79, of North Ridgeville, died Monday, May 31, 2004 at his home following a short illness.
He was born March 21, 1925 in Kane, PA. He had resided in North Ridgeville the past 30 years moving from Berea.
Mr. Summersgill served in the US Navy during WW II. He received the WW II Victory Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal with two bronze stars and the Asiatic Pacific Medal with 4 bronze stars.
Mr. Summersgill received a degree in Accounting from Fenn College, Cleveland.
He was a member of American Legion Post 91, Berea, and C.H.E.V.E.T.S.; Cherolet Retirees, he was a former member of Berea Masonic Lodge.
He retired in 1980 from GM Chevy Parma Plant where he was a Superintendent after 30 years of service.
He is survived by are his wife of 55 years, Betty J. (nee Poulsen) Daughter, Dana Cutteridge of North Ridgeville; three grandsons, two greatgrandchildren; and one Brother, Richard Summersgill of Chicago.
He was preceded in death by Parents, Hubert and Ellen Summersgill, and his son, Rene Waldon Summersgill in 2000.
Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9, Wednesday, June 2 at the at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, North Ridgeville, OH.
Services will be held Thursday, June 3, 2004 at 11:30 AM in the funeral home with Rev. C. Michael Gibson, Pastor of Fields United Methodist Church officiating.
Private interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted.
