Raymond Forrest's Obituary
Raymond Joseph Forrest, age 81 of North Ridgeville, died Saturday, April 22, 2006 at St. John West Shore Hospital, Westlake following a short illness.
He was born March 26, 1925 in Westmoreland County, PA. He had resided in North Ridgeville the past 49 years having moved from Cleveland.
Mr. Forrest served in the US Army during WW II.
He worked as a tool and die maker for General Motors Parma Chevy Plant for 42 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of UAW Local 1005.
Mr. Forrest was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, North Ridgeville. He enjoyed owning a flying airplanes; he had been a private pilot since 1948. He also enjoyed bowling, fishing, golfing, playing cards, roller skating and dancing to Polka music. He coached Hot Stove Baseball and watched his team go on to win the state championship in 1968.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Edith (nee Swartout), 2 Sons, Raymond A. Forrest of Elyria, Richard C. Forrest of Lorain; 2 daughters, Marian R. Otto of Elyria, Kathy Forrest of North Ridgeville; Nine Grandchildren, Two Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by Parents, Joseph and Ann Frejosky and brother, John Edward Frejosky.
Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9 PM Tuesday, April 25 at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville, where a prayer service will be held 9:30 AM Wednesday. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM Wednesday at St. Peter Church 35777 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville. Reverend Stephen Kaminski, Pastor will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in the Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon, where the VFW Post 9871, North Ridgeville will conduct full military honors.
