Raymond W. Diederich's Obituary
Raymond W. Diederich, age 75, passed away on Thursday November 3rd, 2022 at UH Elyria Medical Center. He was born in Elyria and was a lifelong resident of North Ridgeville.
Ray was the Fire Chief for North Ridgeville before retiring in 1995.
He was a United States Air Force Veteran, Motion Pix Lab Specialist, and developed film for Apollo XII and XIII missions. He was an active member of the American Legion post 211 in Avon Lake, Amvets post 32 in Elyria, and St. Peter Church in North Ridgeville. He was also a charter member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Ray enjoyed restoring furniture, trivia, Nascar, and Cleveland sports teams,
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Paige “Pete” (nee Hostutler), sisters Rita Pullen of Elyria, Paula (Dave) Pierce of North Ridgeville, and Carol (Jon) Moran of Virginia Beach, sister-in-law Sue Diederich of North Ridgeville, many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents Josephine and Walter Diederich, brothers Richard and Alan, sister Norma, brother-in-law Jim Rofe, and brother-in-law Ervin Pullen.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 beginning at 3:30pm at Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge rd. North Ridgeville, OH 444039. The Family will receive friends from 12:30pm, until the time of service.
Father Bob Franco will officiate. VFW Post 9871 will provide military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of their choice, in honor of Ray.
