Raymond Coulehan's Obituary
Raymond T. Coulehan, 71, of North Ridgeville, OH, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at EMH Amherst Hospital, after a long struggle with emphysema. A native of the Pittsburgh area (the borough of Bellevue), he was educated at Penn State University. He served for six years in the Pennsylvania National Guard. He and his family spent two decades in Howland, OH, a suburb of Warren, before moving to North Ridgeville in 1991.
Until retiring in 2004, he worked as a metallurgist/quality control engineer for various steel companies, including Sharon Steel in Sharon, PA and USS/Kobe in Lorain, OH. He was an amateur radio enthusiast for many years. Throughout his life he was an avid reader and a devoted family man.
Mr. Coulehan was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Margaret Coulehan, and his sister Arlene Jarvis. He is survived by Barbara Coulehan (nee Cupac), his wife of 44 years, whom he met when they worked together at the U.S. Bureau of Mines in Pittsburgh; twin sons Patrick (Jacqueline) and Paul (Shari), who both live in Brunswick, OH; grandchildren Ryan, Nathan, and Megan; sister Nancy (Hal) Slack; and brother-in-law Jim Jarvis. Another grandson is expected soon.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-5 PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville, where a prayer service will be held on Monday at 10:15 AM. This will be followed by an 11 AM Mass at St. Clarence Church, 30106 Lorain Rd., North Olmsted. Rev. Neil Kookoothe, Pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Valley City.
