Ray Whaley's Obituary
Ray W. Whaley, 74, of North Ridgeville, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at EMH Regional Medical Center, following a long illness.
He was born in Mingo Junction, Ohio and had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1976, moving from Lorain.
Ray served in the US Air Force.
He worked as a maintenance supervisor for Ford Motor Company for 31 years, retiring in 2000.
He was a member of American Legion 211, Avon, a 35 year member of Masonic Grand Lodge of Ohio and the Midcentury Lodge 725 in Avon Lake.
He enjoyed playing country music on his guitar and lived for his wife, daughters and grandchildren, with whom he loved spending time.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Nancy; daughters, Debra Pojman of Olmsted Falls, Amanda (Daniel) Ovelgonne of North Ridgeville; grandchildren, Breck and Keira Pojman of Olmsted Falls, Chase Ovelgonne of North Ridgeville; 4 sisters, 2 brothers and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cherie; son, Ray Jr.; 2 sisters; son-in-law, Ronny Pojman; parents, John and Corena Whaley.
Friends may call Friday from 3-7 PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Services will be held on Saturday at 1 PM in the funeral home. Rev. Chuck Behrens will officiate.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
