Randolph Vayda's Obituary
Randolph A. "Randy" Vayda, age 50, a native and lifelong resident of Elyria, died suddenly on Saturday, February 16, 2013. Randy was born August 19, 1962 to Richard R. and Edith L. (nee Wallace) Vayda. He married Mary Sue (nee Bennati) Vayda on October 20, 1983 and she lovingly survives.
Also surviving Randy are his children, Nicole Rae Vayda of Elyria, Justin Allen Vayda of San Jose, CA and beloved pet sheltie, Bella; his mother, Edith Vayda of Wellington; sisters, Linda Denny of Wellington, Brenda (John) McGrew of Elyria, and Wendy Vayda of Georgia; brother, Richard (Doreen) Vayda II of LaGrange; nieces and nephews, Heather Denny Horne, Shane Denny, Richard Raymond Vayda III, Tonya Vayda, Tara Vayda, Sabrina Dezort Vayda and Ryan Vayda; and four great nieces and nephews.
His father preceded him in death.
A 1981 graduate of Elyria High School, Randy was employed as a conductor at Arcelor Mittal Steel in Cleveland. He was a member of Local 979 United Steelworkers. Multi-talented and handy, Randy enjoyed building things, especially woodworking, tinkering with cars, playing golf and nurturing his rose garden. He was also a fan of James Bond, Star Trek, The Andy Griffith Show and MASH. Randy was passionate about his family and will be remembered for his humble, selfless nature.
Visitation will be Friday from 4-8 p.m. in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 23, 2013. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Elyria.
Memorials are suggested to the Lorain County Animal Protective League.
