Phyllis J. Hemminger's Obituary
Phyllis J. Hemminger (nee Bogner), age 74, passed away on September 6, 2024, at Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo.
She was born in Bellevue, OH, and has been a resident of Norwalk since 1994. Phyllis worked as a nurse’s aide for many years. She also worked as a school crossing guard for several years and went out of her way to help the students she assisted.
She was a member of St Paul's Catholic Church, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and the American Legion in Norwalk.
In her free time, she enjoyed cleaning, gardening, working in the yard, and helping others. She also loved Cleveland sports teams and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Laurie Weider of Sherman, TX; Son, Patrick (Michelle) Weider of Mountville, PA; Stepdaughters, Mellisse (Phil) Morgan of Prosper, TX, and Samantha (Jason) Tuttle of Frisco, TX; 6 grandchildren, Phillip, Brandon, Elise, Alyna, Aidan, and Elizabeth; Brothers, Harold (Kathy) Bogner of North Ridgeville, Wilbur “Bill” (Kathy) Bogner of Avon, Jerry (Tina) Bogner of Clyde; Sister, Joan Hipp of Norwalk; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Michael; parents, Walter and Mary (nee Stockmeister) Bogner; brothers, Donald and Paul Bogner; sisters, Eileen Bogner, Agnes Boyer, Theresa Bogner, and Verna Mirtes.
There will be a funeral mass at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church 91 E Main St, Norwalk, OH 44857, with a reception to follow in the church hall. The burial will be at Greensprings Cemetery.
