Peggy Sopko's Obituary
Peggy J. Sopko (nee Jarboe), age 82, of Elyira, died Monday, January 29, 2007 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain following a long illness.
She was born April 4, 1924 in Cleveland, Ohio. She had resided in Elyria the past fifty years having moved from Berea.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Elyria where she was active with the Altar and Rosary Society.
She did clerical work for Ridge Tool Company in Elyria for ten years retiring in 1979. She also had worked at Lorain County Department of Human Services.
Mrs. Sopko enjoyed sewing and crafts.
Surviving are her husband, Edward F. Sopko, two daughters, Linda Gerding of Elyria, Sharon Cogar of Sheffield; one Son, Dennis Sopko; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by daugher, Judy Sopko in 1955, parents, Elmer and Esther Jarboe, brother Jack Jarboe and sister Betty Mazik..
Friends will be received 6-8PM Wednesday, January 31 at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville. A prayer service will be held 9:00 AM Thursday in the funeral home followed by 9:30 AM Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church 320 Middle Avenue Elyria. Reverend Thom Kowatch, Pastor will be the celebrant.
Private interment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Cleveland.
