Peggy Abel's Obituary
Peggy M. Abel (nee Smith), age 83, of North Ridgeville, died Friday at Westlake Health Care Center, Westlake, following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Livingston, TN and had lived in North Ridgeville since 1937.
She owned and operated the Peggy Ceramics Studio for 15 years and retired in 1997. She was also a secretary for the Melba Manufacturing Co., North Ridgeville for 15 years.
Mrs. Abel was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy, Lagrange, and a member of the North Ridgeville Senior Citizens and a volunteer at the center.
She is survived by her husband, of 62 years, Roger L. Abel; son, LeRoy Abel, of North Ridgeville; 3 grandchildren and 1great-grandson.
She is preceded in death by her parents George W. and Rachel L. (nee Clark) Smith; brothers, Ralph, Quitam, Vernon, Robert and William Smith, and sisters, Vallia Houston, Sarah Sullivan, Beatrice Kerley and Pearl Kerley.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 PM until the time of the service at 4 PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Reverend Harry Meyers, pastor of Church of God of Prophecy, will officiate.
Private burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
