Pauline C. Markel's Obituary
Pauline C. Markel, age 84, of Elyria, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at her home.
She was born in North Ridgeville, where she had lived until moving to Elyria 20 years ago.
Pauline worked as a cook for the North Ridgeville High School, retiring in 1992.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Elyria VFW Post and volunteered at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center.
She enjoyed camping, family BBQ’s, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Doug of Elyria; daughter, Terri (Jeff) Gillespie of North Ridgeville; grandchildren, Timothy Markel, Kristen Seifert, Nick (Lauren) Seifert; great-grandchildren, Kailey, Cayden, Kinsley, Mason and Mason; sister, Irene Camp of LaGrange; sister-in-law Janet Bailey; many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Markel; daughter, Cynthia Markel; parents Elmer and Martha Krueger; sisters, Margaret Morris, Mildred Kettle, Luella Shaw; brothers, Wilbert, Herman, Al and Paul Krueger.
Friends may call Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, and on Friday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of a 1:00 p.m. service at Grace Lutheran Church, 9685 E. River St., Elyria. Rev. Robert Weldon, Pastor, will officiate.
Burial will be at Fields Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
The family requests donations be made to Mercy New Life Hospice, 3500 Kolbe Rd, Lorain, OH 44053.
