Paul Gene Phares' Obituary
Paul Gene “Angel” Phares, age 86, of Elyria, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at University Hospital Elyria Medical Center.
He was born in Cowen, West Virginia and was raised in Webster Springs, moving to Elyria to go to work for Ford Motor Company in 1953, where he lived until retiring in 1984. He then moved to Buckhannon, West Virginia before returning to Elyria in 2014.
After his retirement, he worked part time at Pipefitting in Wellington.
Paul attended Christian Unity Church in Grafton and was a member of United Auto Workers 1250.
He enjoyed his dogs and riding in and playing with antiques cars and going to car shows.
Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Shirley (nee Pittman); daughters, Barbara (Vic) Foster of Old Town, Florida, Sue (Mike) Gallion of Winterhaven, Florida, Debbie (Doug) Sanders of Dallas, Georgia, Tami Phares of New Port Richie, Florida; son, Paul (Sheri) Phares of Elyria; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Russell and Gracie (nee Thomas) Phares.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 AM until time of a Memorial Service at 12 noon Saturday October 7, 2017 at Christian Unity Church 36353 West Capel Road, North Eaton. Pastor Neal Brock will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date in Miller Cemetery, Webster Springs, WV.
Arrangements are under the care of Bogner Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, North Ridgeville.
