Paul John Durisek's Obituary
Paul John Durisek, age 96, of North Ridgeville, passed away on September 4th, 2024 at Life Care Center of Westlake. He was born in Hopewell, VA, grew up in Lorain, and had been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 65 years. Paul worked as an industrial machinist for Ford for 37 years, before retiring in 1991. He was a US Navy Veteran and a founding member of Shepherd of the Ridge Lutheran Church in North Ridgeville.
Paul was a master story and joke teller. He taught himself how to paint, play the piano, and many other instruments. He enjoyed playing golf, singing in the church choir, reading the encyclopedia, playing cards with friends and neighbors, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Paul is survived by his wife of 69 years, Betty Sue (nee Pennington), daughters Darla Durisek-Baumbick and Dana (Mel) Burge, son Steve (Kim) Durisek, grandchildren Jenna (Andrew) Houser, Jessica (Jeremiah) Jenkins, Joshua (Claire) Houser, Brian Burge, Kris (Katie) Durisek, Taylor (Brandon) Anderson, great-grandchildren Koa, Kinsley, Haley, Wesley, Noah, Pennington, Amelia, Emaline, Emmarie, Olivia, Taylor, and Elijah.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mary (nee Dropko) and John Paul Durisek, grandchild Aaron, great-granddaughter Clementine, and son-in-law Michael Baumbick.
Family will receive friends at Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd. North Ridgeville, OH 44039 on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 from 10am to the time of service at 11am. Pastor David Luecke will officiate. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens. VFW post 9871 will provide military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Shepherd of the Ridge Lutheran Church.
