Paul Butkowski's Obituary
Paul Butkowski, age 78, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family and friends.
Paul was born August 29,1947 in Lorain and was a 1965 graduate of Lorain High School. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Kent State University in 1973. Paul was a resident of North Ridgeville for 50 years and worked as a teacher at North Ridgeville High School. He retired from teaching after 38 fulfilling years where he was known for his compassion and care for his students.
In his spare time, Paul loved gardening, fishing, raising chickens, golfing, woodworking, metal working, and traveling the world. Above all, Paul was a devoted husband, supportive father, and a loving grandfather. Even with his health struggles, he lived a joyful life with a good sense of humor. Paul had a way of lifting others up and bringing laughter into everyday moments. Paul was a member of several organizations including Parents of Priests, St. Edward High School Athletic and Band Booster Clubs, and 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus #7970. Paul also volunteered at St. Peter Catholic Church and enjoyed decorating the church for every holiday.
Paul is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lois Butkowski (nee McMillen), sons Brian (Kristin) Butkowski, of North Ridgeville, Fr. Chuck Butkowski, Pastor of St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Berea, Matthew (Emily) Butkowski, of Berea, grandchildren Reagan, Karsyn, and Henry, brother John (Bernadine) Butkowski, of North Ridgeville, sister Ann Marie (George) Cecys, of Lorain, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Anna Butkowski, and brother William Butkowski.
Friends may call at Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville on Tuesday, April 7th, from 4-7 PM. A mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, April 8th at St Peter Catholic Church, 35777 Center Ridge Rd. North Ridgeville at 11 AM. Interment will immediately follow at St. Peter Cemetery.
