Patrick J. "Scraper" Ginley's Obituary
Patrick J. “Scraper” Ginley, age 95, of North Ridgeville, passed away on September 17, 2018 at his home. He was born on June 22, 1923 in Cleveland and has been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 63 years. He worked 25 years in construction and 17 years as custodian for the North Ridgeville School system. He served in the Merchant Marines – U.S. Navy WW II. Patrick was an active member of Boy Scout Troop #155 with his two sons in the 1970’s. He was truly a man who never met a stranger. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Audrey (nee Eble); sons James (Debra) of Olmsted Falls, Patrick (MaryBeth) of North Ridgeville; daughters Laura (Joseph) Paterniti of Springhill, TN, Kathryn (Harry) Hayes of Olmsted Falls; grandchildren Diana, Joseph, Megan, Sarah, Nicole, and Lauren; great-grandchildren Ellie, Maddison, Nathan, Olivia, Kaiden, Theodore and Avery; sister-in-law Linda Occhetti of North Olmsted; Patrick was preceded in death by his parents James and Anna Ginley; brothers Bertram, James “Two Thumbs” Ginley, Thomas and John Ginley; sister Marie Breitsch. The family will receive friends Thursday 4-8PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd, North Ridgeville. Services will be held on Friday at 11AM in the funeral home. Rev. Chuck Behrens will officiate. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon. North Ridgeville VFW Post 9871 will conduct full military honors.
