Patricia "Trish" J. Smith's Obituary
Patricia “Trish” J. Smith (nee Guggenbiller), age 70, of Elyria, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at her home surrounded by family.
She was born in Lorain and had been a lifelong resident of Elyria and North Ridgeville.
Trish was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Elyria. She enjoyed camping, reading, spending time with her children and grandchildren, taking walks and hiking. She was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and was always helping others including being a loyal platelet donor.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Richard “Dick” Smith; daughter, Michele “Chelly” (Adrian) Peyton of Elyria; son, Jason (Katie) Smith of Wellington; grandchildren, Taylor (Hunter), Alli (Clayton), Brianna, Cassidy, Max, and Angel, great-grandchildren, Troy and Stella; brothers, Leo (Glenna) Guggenbiller, Bill “Willie” Guggenbiller, Jerry (Donna) Guggenbiller, Mark Guggenbiller, Paul Guggenbiller; sister -law Helen Guggenbiller, and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Jean Guggenbiller, brothers, Michael “Mick” Guggenbiller and Robert “Bob” Guggenbiller.
Memorial visitation is Tuesday from 9:30 am until the prayer service starting at 10:30 at Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. Memorial Mass will follow at St. Peter Catholic Church, North Ridgeville, at 11 am. Fr. Bob Franco, Pastor, will be the celebrant.
Entombment will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
