Orvil E. Vanover's Obituary
Orvil E. Vanover, age 71, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018 at the Ames Family Hospice in Westlake.
He was born on July 22, 1946 in Williamsburg, Kentucky and has been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 40 years, moving from Grafton and Florida.
Orvil was a Marine Corps Veteran of the Vietnam War and went on to work as a carpenter, retiring as a construction superintendent at Conric Construction in 2016. He was a member of Cathedral of Life Church in North Ridgeville.
In his free time, Orvil enjoyed fishing and horse racing, but nothing made him happier than spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Leota (nee Rusaw), daughter Sherri (Steve) Varner of North Ridgeville and sons Thomas (Stephanie) Vanover of Cleveland and James (Judy) Vanover of North Ridgeville and Keli Stambaugh of Baltimore; grandchildren Donnivan, Brenden and Corey Vanover, Emily, Angel and Candice Varner, and Gavan, Aden and Sydney Vanover; brothers Carl (Millie) Vanover and Otto (Bonnie) Prewitt; many nieces and nephews.
Orvil was preceded in death by his grandson Dylan Porter; parents Tom and Parlena (nee Worley) Vanover; sister Alma Hudgens, brothers Gilbert, Linnus, and James Vanover.
Funeral Services with Full Military Honors will be held on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville, where family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until time of service. Rev. Mike Payne will officiate. Interment will be private.
