Orlando "Joe" Ray Quintana's Obituary
Orlando Ray “Joe” Quintana, age 57, of Lakewood, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024 at his home.
He was born on April 19, 1966 in Cleveland and has lived in Lakewood for the past 2 years, moving from North Ridgeville where he had been a lifelong resident. He was a 1984 graduate of North Ridgeville High School, where he was an all-county and all-state honorable mention football player. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in economics from Wilmington College, where he played nose tackle on the football team all four years. Joe and his brother Timo took over Buffex Metal Finishing in Cleveland from their father, where he has made an indelible mark on the company as floor manager and chief buffer and polisher for the past 40 years.
Joe was uniquely and (maybe?) unintentionally funny and had the distinct capability of making everyone laugh at his quirky comments. He was extremely dedicated to his family and found his greatest joy in spending time with Robyn.
He was an avid walleye fisherman, and loved Cleveland sports teams, especially the Browns, for which he was a die-hard fan. He also loved to travel, with Mexico and Jamaica being his favorite destinations.
He is survived by his wife Robyn; stepchildren Abigail, Dominic and Dimitri, father Luis Quintana of North Ridgeville; brothers Louis (Julie) Quintana of North Ridgeville, Richard (Linda) Quintana of Avon Lake and Timo (Carla) Quintana of North Ridgeville, nieces and nephews Amanda, Jill, Wade, Ty, Cole, Adam, Sean and Ryan; great nieces and nephews Reaghan, Annie, McKenna, Kent, Owen and Elliot; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Joe was preceded in death by his mother Matilda R. Quintana and brother Duane Quintana.
Funeral Service Thursday, March 28 at 7:00 p.m. in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, where family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until time of service. Interment will be private. The family suggests donations be made to the Cleveland Clinic Cancer Research Center at https://my.clevelandclinic.org/giving/ways-to-give.
