Olive E. Sargis' Obituary
Olive E. Sargis, age 99, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2016 at her home.
She was born in Cleveland and had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1977.
Olive worked as a bookkeeper for Parsons and Company in Cleveland for 16 years, retiring in 1979.
She was the founding member of Cove United Methodist Church in Lakewood, where she played the piano. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Fairview Chapter #528 since 1936, Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America Kheedawee Court #6 where she was the first president of the Great Lakes Unit, Yarrum Ives #4 Royal order of Jesterettes, Elyria Country Club, Elyria Country Club Women’s Golf Assoc., where she was past president, Elyria Woman’s Club and was a former member of YWCA.
She enjoyed playing cards, golf, bowling, swimming and sewing.
Survivors include her niece, with whom she made her home, Barbara Sargis and nephew, William H. Sargis II of San Francisco, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Yacob and Emma Sargis; brothers, William H. Sargis, Dr. Harold T. Sargis and Wallace A. Sargis.
Private entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted.
