N. "Ruth" Dorton's Obituary
N. “Ruth” Dorton (nee Phillips), age 73, of North Ridgeville passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at University Hospital in Cleveland, following a short illness.
She was born in Reese, North Carolina and had been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 35 years moving from Lakewood.
She worked as an office clerk for a trucking company for many years.
Ruth was an active member of The River Church (formerly North Ridgeville Church of God).
She enjoyed shopping and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Tina (Ray) Traut of North Ridgeville; grandchildren, Ryan Traut and Erica (Craig) Meddles both of North Ridgeville; great-grandchildren, Bryce Traut and Cameron Meddles; brother, Earl (Mary Jane) Phillips of Brunswick; sisters, Mary Frances Blanks of Hampton, VA, Sylvia Phillips of Washington, Sheryl (Larry) Oliver of Scarbro, West Virginia; sister-in-law, Edith Phillips of North Ridgeville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Neal Dorton; brothers, George, John, Lloyd and Burl Phillips; sisters, Kate Byrd, Gladys Powers, and Blanche Wilson.
Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Services will be held on Friday at 11 AM in the funeral home. Her nephew, Rev. Chad Britt will officiate.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
