N. Scott Collart's Obituary
N. Scott Collart, age 69, of Avon Lake, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake.
He was born in Cleveland, grew up in North Olmsted and had lived in Avon Lake for the past 20 years.
He graduated from Baldwin Wallace with a bachelor’s degree in health sciences where he played football as an offensive lineman under coach Jim Tressel winning BW’s 1st National Championship in 1978.
Scott spent his career working where he loved, outside in nature. After 37 years working for Zergott Landscaping in North Olmsted until their closing in 2019. He spent six years at Willoway Nursery.
In addition to landscaping, he enjoyed working with his hands, woodworking, helping family and friends and cooking. Scott was always in his happy place when with his family, friends and his puppies.
Survivors include his sweetheart of 20 years, Leigh Stumm, brother, Michael (Laura) Collart of Brunswick and niece Christina (Kevin) Noble of Brunswick.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Tillie (nee Walters) Collart.
Friends may call Monday from 4-7PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. A Mass will be held on Tuesday at 11AM at St. Julie Billiart Church, 5500 Lear Nagle Rd., North Ridgeville. Fr. George Vrabel will be the celebrant.
Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted.
