Milford E. "Popeye" Moody's Obituary
Milford E. Moody Jr. "Popeye", age 85, passed away April 12, 2020 at his home surrounded by family. He was born February 16, 1935 in Smithfield, PA. and was a long time resident of Bay Village, OH. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, and a member of the American Legion. He worked as a long haul truck driver and was a proud brother of Teamsters Local 407.
Popeye, loved his family and friends. He enjoyed family gatherings especially with all of his grandchildren. In his earlier years, he bowled and played softball for Dickey’s Lanes and the Teamsters. He also coached soccer in Bay Village. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan. Enjoyed fishing, wood working, trips to the casino and instant lottery tickets.
He is survived by his children Cheryl Wade (James), Debbie Moody, Lora Moody, Kim Bergquist (Russell), Craig Moody, and Becky Schworm; Nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Sister Nancy Whoolery and Uncle to many.
Milford was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Moody (Shepherd) "Ginny"; parents Milford Sr. and Rose (Fields) Moody. Brother Everett Moody "Bob".
Services will be held in private. The family asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made to The Hospice of the Western Reserve.
