Mildred Haponek's Obituary
Mildred Haponek (nee Prosenko), 87, passed away following a short illness on Monday, July 11, 2011 at EMH Elyria Medical Center.
Mildred was born on January 13, 1924 in Lorain, and lived most of her life there until moving to North Ridgeville in 1997.
She really enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing cards, crocheting, making crafts, especially Christmas ornaments and doing crossword puzzles. Mildred was a member of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish in Lorain.
Surviving are sons, Eugene K. (Patricia) Haponek of Lorain, Dane A. Haponek of North Ridgeville, and Glen Haponek of Warner Robins, GA; daughter, Jean (Rob) A. Neuhart of Huber Heights; grandchildren, Michelle (Fred) Barbosa, Nicole Haponek, Kenneth (Mary) Haponek, James Haponek, and Anthony Neuhart; great-grandchildren, Caleb and Noah Barbosa, Dante, Ezra, Kane and Olivia Haponek, and Marco Aponte; and her sister Katherine Miller of Elyria.
Preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Eugene S. (Sept. 22, 2010); parents, John and Katherine Prosenko; brother, John Prosenko; and her sister Anna K. Zavada.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville where a prayer service will be held on Friday at 9:45 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish, 2143 Homewood Drive, Lorain. Father John Retar will be the celebrant. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
