Michelle Marie Mills Vesely's Obituary
Michelle Marie Mills Vesely, age 32, and formerly of Avon, OH, passed away unexpectedly on August 4, 2022 in Oakland, CA. She grew up in Avon prior to enlisting in the military and lived outside San Diego for many years before moving to Oakland. While a student at St. Mary in Avon and throughout high school, Michelle excelled at soccer, track and fitness. She served in the U.S. Marine Corps for almost five years to include participation in Operation Tomodachi after Japan’s tsunami in 2011 while deployed aboard USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76). She received dual Associate in Arts degrees in Multicultural Studies and Sociology at Mira Costa College before transferring to University of California Berkeley to continue her education in Rhetoric and Philosophy. She is survived by her son Genesis Strawder of Illinois; siblings Donna (Bill) Jezewski of Elyria, John (Gabi Teermann) Vesely of Idaho, Mary Beth (Charlie) Williams of Virginia, Larry (Helen) Vesely of Fairview Park, Barbara Vesely of New York City, Kathy Killen of Sheffield Village, Jennifer Kucera of Elyria; many nieces and nephews; closest friend and cousin Sarah Barr; and her beloved Branch family. She was preceded in death by her biological mother Ernestine Mills; mother Mona Vesely; brothers Jonathan Mills, Andre Mills and Tim Vesely. A burial service with military honors is scheduled for 11:00am on September 8 at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church cemetery, 2640 Stoney Ridge Road in Avon. A memorial service celebration of life will be held 4:00-8:00pm on September 8 at Avon Isle Park Pavilion, 37080 Detroit Road in Avon.
