Michael Dennis McKee's Obituary
Michael Dennis McKee, age 64, of Elyria passed away peacefully Wednesday May 6, 2015 at his home following a long illness.
He was born in East Cleveland and grew up in North Ridgeville. He lived most of his life in Elyria.
A graduate of N. Ridgeville High School, class of 1968, he went on to serve in the US Navy during the Vietnam War.
A welder by trade, he worked for several local companies.
Michael had a great sense of humor and was an accomplished musician, playing the drums in several local bands. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Elyria. He was an avid Cleveland Sports Fan and also enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his daughters, Gina McKee of Elyria, Ericka (Art) Goodson of Amherst, son Joshua Unger of Alta, CA, grandchildren; Alec and Destiny Goodson, Jessica and Greg Purcell Jr., his former wife, Darlene McKee of Elyria, sister Kathy (Scot) Stradley of Glyndon, Minnesota and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Connie Bordy, parents, Francis and Edith McKee, twin infant grandson, Eric and Ethan, and twin infant brothers, Angelo and Michael T. McKee
The family will receive friends Monday from 9AM until time of Service at 10 AM at Bogner Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Rev. Bob Franco will officiate. Inurnment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, where VFW Post 9871 will conduct full military honors.
