Michael W. Kovach's Obituary
Michael W. Kovach, age 85, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at his home.
He was born in Redstone Twp., Pennsylvania and had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1989.
Michael served in the US Air Force and was stationed in several places including Alaska and Germany, where he helped to start a children’s home.
He worked as a supervisor for Ford Motor Company Engine Plant #2 in Brookpark, retiring in 1989, after 30 years.
He was a former member of St. Theodosius Russian Orthodox Church in Cleveland.
Michael loved fishing and boating and enjoyed studying WWII history. He enjoyed being with his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include his son, Michael of Berea; daughter, Leah (Robert) Karaba of North Ridgeville; grandchildren, Eric Karaba, Alex and Sonya Kovach; sisters, Eva Ramage of Ft. Myers, Florida, Rosie (George) Cindrich of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania; his companion of 27 years, Susan Fockler of North Ridgeville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister Ann Kovach, sister, Mary Tyleshevski; brothers, John, James and Charles Kovach.
Friends may call Thursday from 5-8PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. Services will be held on Friday at 11:30AM in the funeral home. Fr. John Zdinak will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
He was an animal lover and had a soft spot in his heart for under privileged children therefore, the family suggests memorial contributions in Michael’s name to Friendship APL, www.friendshipapl.org or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org
