Michael Akers' Obituary
Michael W. Akers, age 45, of Elyria, passed away Wednesday at EMH Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness.
He was a life long resident of Elyria.
Mr. Akers worked for Alcoa in Cleveland for the past 9 years. He previously worked at General Industries in Elyria for 17 years.
He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 1050.
He enjoyed working around his house, going to car shows, and spending time with his family. He also coached little league baseball and softball in Elyria for several years.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Pamela S. (nee Lankey); daughter, Chastin L. Akers of Elyria; son, Michael of Elyria; brothers Melvin and John both of Elyria; sister, Debra Wissinger of Elyria; mother, Delores Akers of Elyria and maternal grandmother, Dorothy Jones of Elyria.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roscoe Akers in 1999.
Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 12:00 Noon in the funeral home. Rev. Ray Carpenter, Pastor of Faith Baptist Temple, North Ridgeville, will officiate.
