Melvin Wandt's Obituary
Melvin E. Wandt, age 95 of Medina, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2007 at Summerville Senior Living, Medina following a short illness..
Born in Cleveland, he was a resident of Medina and previously lived in Old Brooklyn for most of his life.
Mr. Wandt worked as a photo engraver for the Plain Dealer for 35 years, retiring in 1974.
He was a member of United Church of Christ Congregational in Medina. He was an avid Indians and Browns fan and enjoyed bowling and golfing.
Surviving are daughters, Phyllis (Norman) Skuderin of Parma, Lois (Ron) Schwachenwald of North Ridgeville,; 30 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren; Stepsons, Eugene (Shirley) Foose of Paso Robles, California, Norman (Donna) Foose and Roger (Laurie) Foose both of Brunswick, Donald (Carol) Foose of Tarpin Springs, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Marguerite (nee Komanec) in 1980; 2nd wife Carolyn (nee Foose) ; brothers, George and Ray; sister, Edna Schmidt; parents, Charles and Hannah Wandt.
Friends may call 6-9PM Monday at Waite and Son Memorial Home, 765 N. Court, Medina. Services will be held Tuesday at 10:00AM in the funeral home. Rev. Sharon Kiesel, will officiate. Interment will follow in Brooklyn Heights Cemetery.
