Melvin Stringer's Obituary
Melvin C. Stringer, age 73 of North Ridgeville passed away peacefully Monday January 25, 2010 at the Hospice House of the Hospice of the Western Reserve in Olmsted Township following a long illness.
He was born February 12, 1936 in Cleveland and had resided in North Ridgeville since 1963.
Mr. Stringer was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, North Ridgeville, enjoyed model trains, playing baseball and traveling.
He worked as a Environmental Technician with BP at the Grafton terminal until retiring in 2001 after 44 years.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 53 years, Thelma R. (nee Ewing), loving children Deborah (Victor) Howe of Joshua, TX, David A. Stringer of North Ridgeville, brother-in-laws Ralph and Roy Ewing, Sister-in-laws Pat Ewing, Donna Betler and Rita Ewing and an extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Virginia Stringer.
The family will receive friends Friday from 5-8 PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville where a prayer service will be held 9:30 AM Saturday followed by 10 AM Mass at St. Peter Church. Reverend Bob Franco, Pastor will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
