Mary Ann Serazin's Obituary
Mary Ann Serazin (nee Benko), age 91, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Friday, April 6, 2018 at Kendal at Oberlin.
She was born in Lorain and had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1951.
Mary Ann was the Director of Military Families for the American Red Cross for 13 years, retiring in 1981.
She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in North Ridgeville, where she was involved with the PTU and Legion of Mary. She was also a volunteer at the Oberlin Senior Center and North Ridgeville Community Care for many years. She received the Golden Kernel Award at the 2008 Corn Festival.
She enjoyed traditional rug hooking, knitting and making quilts for infants.
Survivors include her daughters, Jane Halsall of Algonquin, Illinois, Amy (William) Ferron of Mercer Island, Washington, Ellen (David) Jones of Birmingham, Alabama, Hallie (Jim Wilson) Serazin of Delaware; son, Scott (Rebecca) Serazin of Elyria; 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. in 2012; brothers, Robert and Ernest Benko; sister, Ethel Wiegand; parents, Andrew and Marie Benko; son-in-law Robert Halsall.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday from 5-7PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday at 11AM at St. Peter Church, 35777 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville. Please meet at church.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Peter’s Altar & Rosary Society.
