Mary C. Polchek's Obituary
Mary C. Polchek (nee Prize), age 89, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at the Avenue at North Ridgeville. She was born on April 2, 1936, in Cleveland and has been a resident of North Ridgeville since 2012, moving from Parma Heights. Mary worked as a switchboard operator for Ohio Bell and went on to work as a cook for Southwest Hospital and the Holy Family Home. She was a past parishioner at St. Albert the Great Church in North Royalton where she was the past President of the Ladies Guild, and was currently a member of St. Julie Billiart Church in North Ridgeville. Mary faithfully prayed the Rosary, and loved nature, especially watching the birds.
She is survived by her children Louise (Lance) Gilbert of AZ, Michael (Sally) Polchek of PA, Catherine (Jim) Sliter of FL, Barbara Polchek of North Ridgeville; grandchildren Jason (Erica) Connell, Randi (Mark) Dusick, Michael (Kelly) Polchek, Andrew (Ashley) Sasak, Marc (Beth) Sasak, Holly (Christopher Chin) Sasak, Aunna (Josh) Ellis, Rachel (Brandon) Juszczyk and Rebecca (Cody) Horstman; 12 great grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Louis Polchek; son Robert Polchek; grandson Alex Regas; parents Vera (nee Rittwage) and John Prize.
Family will receive friends in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville on Thursday, January 22 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of a 10:30 a.m. prayer service preceding an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Julie Billiart Church, 5500 Lear Nagle Rd., North Ridgeville. Rev. Isidore Munishi will officiate. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Brook Park.
