Mary Sue Mays' Obituary
Mary Sue Mays, age 89, of North Ridgeville, passed away September 24, 2023 at the Symphony in Olmsted Falls.
She was born in Pemberton, West Virginia and had been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 55 years, moving from Brookpark.
Sue was a graduate of Stoco High School in West Virginia. Sue worked as an executive secretary at McDowell Wellman Engineering and was very active in her church, First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ. Sue loved volunteering for the Church, the local food bank, nursing homes and at St. John Westshore Hospital.
Sue was married for many years to the love of her life, R.G. Mays (deceased). Daughter of Anna Louise Dunn (née Burdiss) and Simmie Canterbury (deceased). She is survived by her daughters Sandy (Dan) DeRoma and Jeannie (Ray) Muñoz, and her grandchildren, Chelsea Swiggett, Ryan Swiggett, Josh (Christina) Vogelpohl and their children Alaina, Greyson and Elsie, Justin (Brittany) and their children Kaiden, Cole and Camden, and Ramón Muñoz. Sue was very close to her siblings, whom she deeply loved, and is also survived by Dick (Lillian) Canterbury, Dreama Stamper, Marge Clark, Flora (Tom) Cooper and Deborah (Craig) Sutorius, and several nieces and nephews, and her beloved sister-in-law Phyllis Zahn, and Godsons Blaine Stamper and Jeff and Steve Zahn.
Friends may call Saturday from 12PM until the time of services at 1PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home located at 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville, OH. Chaplin Dan Johnson will officiate.
Private burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Westlake.
