Mary Lyons' Obituary
Mary E. Lyons (nee Ely), age 93 of Fort Myers, Florida formerly of North Ridgeville died Tuesday, December 6, 2005 in Fort Myers following a short illness.
She was born in Marinette, Wisconsin. She had lived most of her life in North Ridgeville, moving to Fort Myers in 1982.
She was a member of D.A.R., the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Ft. Myers and the Ladies Circle at the church. She was a former member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, North Ridgeville. She also was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed playing cards, shuffleboard, bingo, piano, and crossword puzzles.
Mrs. Lyons worked as a secretary for O.E. Meyers Welding Equipment Company in Lorain for many years until retiring in 1980. She had previously worked as secretary at North Ridgeville City Hall.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Elizabeth Peichert of Fort Myers, Florida, Vivian Millott of Polk, OH; Son, Robert Lyons of Cleveland; Sister, Dorothy Hirst of Newington, CT; six grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by Husband Robert in 1974, son William in 1987 and her brother James Ely and her parents, John Elbert and Etta Louisa Ely.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday April 20 at First Congregational United Church of Christ 36363 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville. Reverend David Connor will officiate. Private interment was in the Ridgeville Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hope Hospice of Lee County 2430 Diplomat Parkway East, Cape Coral, FL 33909.
