Mary Groflo's Obituary
Mary Groflo (nee Petechelle) age 92 of Columbia Station passed away Monday evening at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake following a lengthy illness
Born in Martin, PA, she had resided in Columbia Station 57 years.
She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, and the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW in Columbia Station.
Mrs. Groflo worked as a Cook for Columbia Middle School until her retirement in 1987.
An avid sports fan, she enjoyed watching baseball and football, playing Bingo and cooking for her family.
She is survived by her son David (Mary Jo) Groflo of Columbia Station; daughter-in-law Vicky Groflo of Columbia Station; granddaughters, Michelle Chrosniak, Tracy (Bob) Mantz, Kelly Contini and Amber (Louis) Nagy; nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sisters Margaret Miroscotti of MI and Helen Lipscomb of PA; longtime friend Pat Schaffer.
She was preceded in death by her husband Guy in 2004; son Fred in 2010; parents Charles and Mary Petechelle; sisters Ann Zaby and Julia Balash; brothers John and Andy Petechelle.
The family will receive friends Thursday 5-8 p.m. in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 25801 Royalton Road, Columbia Station (Please meet at Church). Reverend Charles Ryba, Pastor will be the celebrant.
The family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Assn., Cleveland Area Chapter, P.O. Box 74924, Cleveland, OH 44194. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
