Mary J. Gallis' Obituary
Mary J. Gallis, (nee Minnich) age 93, North Ridgeville, passed away Friday November 2, 2018 at Avon Place.
She was born in North Ridgeville where she was a life ling resident, wintering in Holiday, Florida for many years.
She was a member of St. Peter Parish, life member of VFW Post 7035 Ladies Auxiliary, Avon, of which she was a past president, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Elyria, Women of the Loyal order of the Moose, Elyria. She enjoyed golfing and bowling with her fellow auxiliary members
Mrs. Gallis retired from North Ridgeville City Schools in 1980 where she worked as a bus driver having been one of the first lady bus drivers licensed in Ohio and later as supervisor for 26 years.
Survivors include her daughter, Charlene (Gary) Logsdon of Fremont, sons Charles (Sandy) Kalo of Lorain, Larry (Susan) Gallis of Elyria and Steven Gallis of North Ridgeville, five grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Father, Joseph and Julia (nee Schuster) Minnich, 1st husband Charles Kalo in 1954, 2nd husband Lawrence Gallis in 1976, brothers, Joseph, Anthony and Leo Minnich, sisters Winifred Minnich and Catherine Flock.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4-7PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, where a prayer service will be held Wednesday at 9:30AM followed by a 10AM Mass at St. Peter Parish, 35777 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville. Fr. Bob Franco, Pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
