Mary Fitch's Obituary
Mary A. Fitch (nee Hayden), age 80 of North Ridgeville passed away Saturday, September 5, 2009 at EMH Regional Medical Center, Elyria following a lengthy illness. She was born in Greensburg, PA and had been a resident of North Ridgeville for 2 years having moved from Avon where she had resided for 18 years. She was retired from Lortec, Elyria where she had been employed as an assembler from 1970-1991. Mary was active in Bible study at First Congregational United Church of Christ, North Ridgeville, she had attended Avon United Methodist Church and she was a former member of Christ the King Lutheran Church, N. Olmsted. She and her husband enjoyed travel and spent their winters in Clermont, FL. She enjoyed word puzzles, TV game shows and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 20 years, Robert Fitch, sons, Thomas (Janet) Achtziger of Strongsville, Richard (Trish) Achtziger of Avon and David (Jean) Nagy of North Ridgeville, step-sons, William (Donna) Fitch and Richard (Rita) Fitch, both of Avon and David (Nancy) Fitch of Houston, TX, step-daughter, Mary (Harry) Selner of Hudson, 20 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, sisters, Twyla (Glen) Evans of Avon and Ruth Kutcha of Dallas, TX, a brother, Charles (Mary Grace) Hayden and a sister-in-law, Marge Hayden, both of Greensburg, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Amanda and Samuel Hayden, a son, Robert Kim Achtziger, a brother, Harry Hayden, a step-brother, Jacob Hayden and a step-sister, Virginia Aston.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 from 11 A.M. until the time of services at 1 P.M. in the David Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Cleveland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 6155 Rockside Rd., Suite 202, Independence, OH 44131.
