Mary J. Biss' Obituary
Mary Jane Biss (nee Mirto), age 76, of North Ridgeville went to be with Jesus Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, Illinois.
She was born on February 19, 1946, in Washington, Pennsylvania to the late Nicholas Paul and Mary (nee Pollack) Mirto.
Mary worked at Magnificat High School where she taught Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Honor Statistics and was loved by her students for over 30 years. She was involved in bowling, Kiwanis, Grange and other clubs. She loved to crochet and her passion was making baby blankets for all the new nieces and nephews. Mary loved to play Bridge and enjoyed motorcycle rides and ballroom dancing with her husband. She was a great friend to many and had a heart for others. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, John J. Biss, daughters, Terri L. Biss and Karen A. (George) Russell, adoring grandmother to Alexis Ann Marie Russell and Zachary Maxwell Russell, sisters Marlene (William) Day and Darlene McDonald, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Theresa Ann Horner, Petrinella Priscilla Hodges, nephew, Thomas Tarr and brother-in-law, William F. McDonald.
Family will receive friends in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Rev. Jonathan Schaeffer will officiate. Interment will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
