Mary Akin's Obituary
Mary Etta Akin (nee Collins), age 65 of La Grange, died Friday, April 15, 2005 at her home following a long illness.
She was born February 15, 1940 in Gassaway, WV. She had resided in La Grange the past 7 weeks moving from Clinton, TN. She had previously lived in North Ridgeville from 1965 until moving to Tennessee in 1988.
She was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Clinton, TN. She formerly was an active member of St. Peter Catholic Church, North Ridgeville. She enjoyed cross stitch and other crafts, volunteering at church and was a Cub Scout Den Leader.
Surviving are her husband, J. Barrie Akin of La Grange, 2 Sons, J. Allen Akin of North Ridgeville, Timothy Lee Akin of Mansfield; 3 daughters, Tammy S. Akin-Stevanus of La Grange, Pamela Ann Shank of Ashland, Theresa Lynn Strohm of Columbus;, five grandchildren; and her brother, Kenneth Collins of Deland, Florida.
She was preceded in death by Parents William and Mildred Collins, grandson, Kevin J. Daily, and brother, James Collins.
Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9, Monday, April 18 at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville. A prayer service will be held 9:30 AM Tuesday in the funeral home followed by 10:00 AM Mass at St. Peter Church. Rev. Dr. Richard Gonser will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Peter's Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
