Martin Sefcovic's Obituary
Martin R. Sefcovic, age 70 of Grafton passed away Tuesday March 10, 2009 at Southwest Residential Hospice, Strongsville following a brief illness. He was born Oct. 30, 1938 in Cleveland and had resided in Grafton for the past 30 years. A 1956 graduate of Max Hays High School in Cleveland, he had worked as a job setter at Ford Motor Co., Brook Park for 46 years retiring in 2003. He was a member of UAW Local 1250. Martin was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Grafton and was also a member of the United Polish Club, Elyria, the Elyria Moose Lodge #778 and the Ford Galaxie Club of America. He and his wife visited many Catholic Shrines throughout the Midwest. He loved to travel with his wife to Las Vegas, NV, Albuquerque, NM, Florida, North Carolina and so many other places. He enjoyed NASCAR Racing and went to many races. Martin's passion was spending time with friends, cruising in his 1963 ? Ford Galaxie XL500 to car shows in the area as well as out of state in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Indiana with his wife, son and friends for the past 12 years. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, LaVerne (nee Harding), son, Mark Sefcovic, sister, Carol (Ed, deceased) Kepp of Stuart, FL, brothers, Jim (Lynn) Sefcovic of Stafford, TX and Paul (Robbie) Sefcovic of Columbia Station, nieces Cori (Tom) Xenos and Mary Ann (Danny) Harding and nephews, Ralph (Karen) Harding, Phil (Rebecca) Harding and Paul Sefcovic, Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lottie and Martin Sefcovic and an aunt, Stella Nawrocki. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Friday, March 13, 2009 in the David Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville where a prayer service will begin at 9:15 A.M. Saturday followed by a funeral Mass at 10 A.M. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church 1033 Elm St., Grafton. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Grafton. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 10501 Euclid Ave. Cleveland 44106.
