Martin P. "Brother" Cooney's Obituary
Martin P. “Brother” Cooney Jr., age 76, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at The Avenue in North Ridgeville.
He was born in Cleveland and was a resident of North Ridgeville. He formerly lived in Elyria and Cleveland.
Martin worked as a mail carrier in Cuyahoga County for 30 years, retiring in 1999.
He was a former member of St. Mary’s Church in Elyria and currently a member of St. Peter Church in North Ridgeville. He enjoyed working on cars.
Survivors include his sisters Donna (Dennis) Andolek of Strongsville, Theresa (Jack) Nunney of North Ridgeville, Colleen (Jim) Smith of Amherst and was an uncle of 8 and great-uncle of 14. He was preceded in death by his parents Martin and Coletta (nee English) Cooney.
Friends may call Sunday from 2-4PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville where a prayer service will be held on Mon at 9:30AM followed by a 10AM Mass at St. Peter Church, 35777 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, Fr. Bob Franco, Pastor, will be the celebrant.
Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brook Park.
