Martha L. Phifer's Obituary
Martha L. Phifer (nee Reynolds), age 81, of Olmsted Township, passed away on July 2, 2015 after a brief illness.
She was born on December 31, 1933 in Big Sandy Tennessee and has been a resident of Olmsted Township for the past 51 years.
She worked as sales and payroll clerk for Kmart in Middleburg Heights, retiring in 1979 after 15 years of service and enjoyed being a painter at Nature Stone Products after her retirement.
Martha could often be found tending to her flower garden and also was fond of needlepoint and crocheting, along with collecting angels. Her grandchildren were her world to her, and spending time with them was where she found her greatest joy in life.
She is survived by her daughters Linda Eck of Olmsted Township, Brinda (Rodger) LePoidevin of Utah and Karen (Chuck) Farren of Indiana; daughter-in-law Debbie Phifer of IN; grandchildren Charlie (Scott Rummelhart) Farren of IA, Shilo Lord of NJ, Crystal Farren of IN, Caryn (Brian) Studebaker of IN, Carla (Justin) Peake of IN, Thomas T. (Jes Thompson) Phifer of IN, Tamica (Alex) Roloff of IN, Joshua (Miranda) Haggard of Olmsted Falls and Tiffany (Jeff) Kelly of Cincinnati; 20 great grandchildren; aunt of many.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband Thurman Phifer; daughter Okalmae Phifer; sons James and Kenneth Phifer; grandchildren Samuel, Tammy, Thomas, Pamela and Timothy Schroeder; parents Thurman and Nettie (nee York) Reynolds; 12 brothers and 6 sisters.
Funeral Service on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville, where family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until time of service. Rev. Keith Rasey will officiate. Interment will be in Flatwoods Cemetery, Camden TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Pathways Hospice, 885 W Bagley Rd, Berea, OH 44017.
