Martha Sue Burks' Obituary
Martha Sue Burks (nee Perry) age 76, of Elyria, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Wesleyan Village following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Winchester, Tennessee and had been a resident of Elyria for the past 42 years.
Martha worked as a nursing assistant at the Renaissance Nursing Home for many years.
She was an avid Cleveland sports fan and enjoyed traveling often to see family in Tennessee, going on long drives in the country, flowers and gardening, playing BINGO and going to casinos.
Survivors include her husband of 10 years, Arther Thomas; son, Terry (Ruthie) Burks Sr. of Elyria; daughters, Beth Burks of Elyria, DeDe (George) Nader of Lakewood, Yvette Burks of North Ridgeville; step-sons, Mark, Frazier, Carl Thomas all of Elyria and Michael; grandchildren, Christen Burks, Terry Burks Jr., Justin Jackson, Dani Palacios, Gia Nader, Elias Nader; great-grandchildren, Amya Burks and Averie Jackson; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Loraine (nee Shockley) Perry; sisters, Mary Ann McCallie and Dale Mann.
Friends may call Thursday from 12PM until the time of services at 1PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. Rev. Chuck Behrens and Rev. Dr. Marcettes L. Cunningham will co-officiate.
Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
