Marilyn J. Hitchcox's Obituary
Marilyn J. Hitchcox (nee Hamm), age 86, of Elyria, our family’s beloved “Nanny” passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at the Elms in Wellington.
She was born on August 13, 1936 and was the second of nine children. She grew up in Mellenville, New York then moved to Ohio around 1952.
Marilyn is survived by her son, Charles (Jennifer) Harmon of Wellington, daughter, Debra James of Elyria, daughter-in-law Maryann Harmon of Rivesville, West Virginia, 9 grandchildren, Jenny (Brian) Filko of Oberlin, Jamie (Ben) Andrews of Naples, Florida, Gail (Adam) Wissinger of Elyria, Melissa (Scott) Zietlow of Wellington, Jess (Jennifer) Harmon of Wellington, James (Marcella) Harmon III of Rivesville, West Virginia, Jeanetta (Glen) Campbell of Morgantown, West Virginia, Isaac (Lila) Harmon of Rivesville, West Virginia, Nathan (Angie) Harmon of Gerrardsville, West Virginia, 20 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, sister, Linda (Phil) Brown and brothers, Robert, James and Bruce all of New York.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Harmon Sr., second husband, Dewey Hitchcox in 2015, son James Harmon Jr. in 2022, siblings, Phillip, Carol, David, Alfred and parents, William and Orion (nee Bishop) Hamm.
Services will be private.
